Yoga & Meditation In A Himalayan Salt Room

YOGA SHOULD BE ACCESSIBLE TO ALL, REGARDLESS OF AGE, ABILITY OR INCOME – THAT’S THE MESSAGE FROM DUBAI’S NEWEST YOGA STUDIO, KINTSUGI – THE ONLY STUDIO IN THE CITY WITH A HIMALAYAN SALT ROOM, OFFERING A RANGE OF HEALTH AND WELLNESS BENEFITS.

Kintsugi” is the ancient traditional Japanese art of repairing broken pottery. “Kin” means gold, and “Tsugi” is “Joinery”. The studio is built on the concepts behind this Japanese art where broken ceramic ware is lined with gold to make it look more beautiful. As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise. Inspired by this Japanese ideology of embracing flaws, this Japanese themed Yoga Studio is a space where vulnerabilities are celebrated, and imperfection is appreciated and even seen as beautiful. It is home to people who would like to “fix” themselves using yoga, meditation and mindfulness. It is a space to heal, let go and truly rejuvenate and relax through acceptance. As the only yoga studio with a Himalayan Salt Room, we offer the ancient, natural healing technique of Salt Therapy (also known as HaloTherapy).

THE ZEN SALT ROOM

The uniquely designed & handcrafted salt room is constructed from natural pink Himalayan Salt and is modelled after the caves that have been in existence for  hundreds of years. The rock salt is derived from evaporated ancient lakes and seas and sourced from deep underground caverns.

The room has entire walls built from Pink Himalayan salt bricks. They also have a Halo-generator, a device that grinds and gently disperses pharmaceutical grade salt particles into the air for effortless absorption. You can also sit down or lie down and meditate on the loose salt beds. This uniquely controlled micro climate helps people to reach supreme relaxation and let the Himalayan salt work its magic. While practicing yoga, our breath deepens and allows the salt air to penetrate even deeper into your lungs. The cleansing property of salt enhances lung function and stamina. They offer group yoga, meditation and one-on-one sessions in this Himalayan salt room. There are breathing technique workshops, and the chance to de-stress unlike anywhere else in our busy city.

They have a variety of classes in this room including gentle salt flow, hatha heal and a variety of meditation practices. The sound healing workshops are especially popular in the Salt Room. The “Zen” Salt Room is a therapeutic and healing space. All classes here are gentle classes. In this room, we get the benefits of Salt Therapy and Yoga together.
