Why take a Les Mills Class?

Margarita, trainer and presenter with Les Mills Middle East tells you why Les Mills workouts are the best choice for all. A Les Mills class doesn’t mean making people work out. It means helping people fall in love with fitness!

Benefits of taking a Les Mills class:

The benefits of taking Les Mills classes are endless! Getting in a better shape, improving your fitness levels, doing the workouts while having fun, getting motivated and supported by the instructors, and joining a community with similar goals as you. Besides, you will not get bored! There are programs to suit different personalities and demands.

Some information about the different workouts:

There is a huge variety of programs and everyone will be able to find a workout type they will fall in love with! We have programs that focus on very different goals. For example, strength workouts build up lean muscle mass and strength (Body Pump), whereas cardio workouts improve endurance and help with weight loss (Body Attack, Body Combat, RPM, The Trip & Body Step). HIIT training improves cardiovascular fitness and athletic skills (GRIT, Sprint), in dance classes, you burn calories while having a lot of fun (Body Jam, Sh’bam, Barre) and the flexibility classes are all about improving flexibility, core strength, and feeling calm and centered (Body Balance). We, also, have a program that is focused on improving core strength and sports performance (Core), and a program that includes a mix of strength, cardio, and core training (Tone). You can try them all to know what best suits your purpose and what you enjoy the most.

Who are they suitable for and why:

Les Mills workouts are suitable for everyone – from beginner to advanced levels. We have so many options to ensure that no one is left behind. If someone is just starting their fitness journey, they can choose if they want to do a 30-45 or 55-minute workout. In addition to this, we also have options for the exercises and weight selection of a bar and plates. Of course, if someone is completely new, it might be better to start with 30 minutes, lighter weight selection of equipment and to stay with options in some exercises. From one class to the other, there will be some improvement and with time it will be possible to complete the full class. Choose a heavier weight selection for a barbell and plates, and go for harder options in exercises.

If someone has been training for a while and looking for more challenges in every class, the instructor will provide advanced options by increasing weights selection or intensity to increase fitness levels.

We also have an amazing app – “Les Mills+”, where you can access 1500+ workouts on your device anytime and from anywhere! That is an amazing option when you don’t have much time, but still want to do a workout. All you need is your device and some space either indoors or outdoors. If someone is a bit shy to start doing classes with a group, they can start with home workouts and perhaps later join a live class to feel the energy and connection with the instructor and other people in the class!

The last thing I could add here is that I’m 6 months pregnant now, and I know many ladies who continued doing Les Mills classes while being pregnant! Of course, you should consult with your doctor throughout the pregnancy on the kinds of activities you are allowed, if they give you permission, you can do the classes with slight adjustments. For example, weights selection should be reduced, jumps should be taken out and some extra options might be required in different exercises to lower the intensity. What is great about Les Mills classes is that the instructor will help you by providing low-impact options and the classes will help you stay active and energized and prevent you from gaining too much weight.

I say that consistency is always the key! The improvement which comes from doing Les Mills classes can be seen really fast. You will not only look better but also feel stronger in your daily life.

Meet Margarita:

My name is Margarita and I’m a trainer and presenter with Les Mills Middle East since 2017. I was introduced to Les Mills back in 2014, when I went to a fitness event in Moscow, where I participated in a Les Mills class – it was Body Jam. At that time I even didn’t know about Les Mills, but I just fell in love with the atmosphere created by the instructors, the music, and the choreography! In a year I came back to the UAE and Les Mills was there in every club I was teaching at! That was when I started my journey as a Les Mills instructor. In 2 years, I joined the trainers and presenters team. My biggest goal as an instructor is to help my members to live their lives better. It includes for them to look better, to feel better by building up their confidence and helping them connect with other members who have similar interests and goals, so they will also get motivated and support each other! My purpose as a trainer is to share all the knowledge I have with the instructors and help them bring about positive change in the lives of their members.
