The Art of Good Eating

The global pandemic has rendered us all home bound for long spells of time. Whether it is shopping, dining, salon treatments and more, it is all available at home with the click of the mouse! Food delivery has definitely been a savior amidst these trying times. After all, it is what keeps up going no matter what the situation is! Doesn’t the idea of a sumptuous biryani or a butter chicken with paratha lift our mood just by the sound of it? How about concluding your day with some self-indulgent DUM biryani, chicken tikkas and kebabs?

If your weekends are all about doing something different, look no further than Art of Dum, a cloud kitchen based in Dubai to satisfy your taste buds. We delighted in some of the most delectable Indian Mughlai food offered in Dubai. If you are looking for delicious, hearty, and mouth-watering food, then this is definitely the place! Their dishes are not only packed with huge portions, amazing flavor, and great quality, but each dish has its own unique flair bought to the table.

Art of Dum is a refreshing take on home delivery! It is all about popular cuisine, a fresh menu, easy access, and tasty food! The fantastic experience begins with the delivery – piping hot and superb packaging! (5 stars for the packaging!) It comes in eco-friendly paper and glass containers with stainless steel cutlery! (Yes!!!). The Dum biryani was served fresh in a dough sealed handi or clay pot! How much better can this get!

Art of Dum offers a very distinct spread catering to a wide customer base having a huge variety from mouth-watering DUM biryani, succulent kebabs, dals, gravies and much more. Whenever the thought of biryani crosses the mind, a word that is almost instantly linked with it is DUM. Dum Biryani is a favourite, a one-pot dish of aromatic spices and delightful flavours – a result from slow cooking the ingredients in a sealed, heavy bottomed vessel for hours or even overnight in certain cases.

The dishes breathe and cook in their own aroma and juices adding to the flavour. This style of cooking, traditionally known as dum pukht, is of course not just restricted to biryanis, but various other preparations such as korma, nihari, boti, murgh tikka, other meat curries and even dal. Everything at Art of Dum is cooked in this manner resulting in the flavourful dishes.

We tried the Vegetarian offerings and starting with mains, we were offered delicious aloo methi with the aromatic dal makhani and melt-in-the-mouth paneer tikkas! Next on, we sampled the Nizami Dum Subz Biryani – seasoned vegetables and aromatic basmati rice cooked on Dum in a subtle vegetable extract- a rich aroma of saffron and Indian spices making it taste heavenly! This was accompanied by raita and the spicy Mirchi Ka Saalan. The Punjabi Paneer Tikka packed a punch with their tandoori flavour marination along with yoghurt and bell peppers.

At the end as we all know, there is always room for dessert! We got to try the absolutely divine Kesar Da Phirni – a rice pudding flavoured with saffron, cardamom and nutmeg garnished with almonds and pistachios. Delicious and packed with sweetness!

Our Verdict: A must try!

The Good

The flavours from the DUM style of cooking allows the food to cook slowly in its own juices, absorbing the delicate flavour of the spices and herbs, resulting in maximum flavour.

The Bad

You may want to order it every weekend!

The Trendy

The packaging and cutlery is definitely insta worthy!
