The newly opened Ruby Restaurant is an all day dining restaurant, infused with a passion for meat, a cornucopia of flavours and a welcoming ambience. The menu is a celebration of family meals, culinary traditions and taste to suit every palate. Their premium selection of meats are rare and remarkable just like the exceptional gemstone – Ruby! The owner, Kirill Mikhaylov tells Melanie Gordon that he wanted the name to be special and signifying that it is precious; a jewel in Jumeriah.
Kirill came to Dubai after living in London and Italy, and this is his first restaurant. He decided to open this restaurant because he felt there is no happy medium other than a family restaurant to bring people together. He created a dream team and Ruby happened! It is a spacious restaurant with rich wooden interiors and a movable roof that that allows for al fresco dining during cooler times (how we love sitting under the open sky in cool weather!). This was a realisation of his dream to have a restaurant where you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner; a five star restaurant with four star prices. He has sourced most of the team from Turkey and the produce and ingredients used at the restaurant are absolutely the best on offer. The meat is the base of what they do and the chef and butcher have it imported from USA, it has to be the absolute best, the same for the vegetables! All the ingredients are flown in from Turkey including spices, cold cuts, cheese, flour, oils, jams and signature breakfast items.
Although it is a meat lover’s delight, there are a wide variety of dishes on offer, with great options for the Vegetarians too! They have it all from Steak tartar to kebabs, as well as pasta and pizza to cater to the entire family. From traditional Turkish breakfasts with a large number of hearty options along with a fine selection of succulent meats and mezze, as well as a butchery, bakery and patisserie and signature coffee bar, Ruby is the new Turkish delight with something for everyone.
A team of Turkish chefs led by Head Chef Mücahit Kaynak, give the diverse menu a stamp of authenticity. There is a live kitchen and on offer are a wide variety of steaks, kebabs, lamb racks and other cuts of meat cooked over charcoal and then brought tableside for a spot of theatrical carving.
The delicious desserts are all homemade and freshly baked in the restaurant every day and can be enjoyed with a signature specialty coffee drink made by the in-house barista.
This gem is definitely worth a visit!
