LUVE (LOVE YOUR VIBRANT EARTH) – A TRYP INITIATIVE

TRYP BY WYNDHAM DUBAI ADOPTS THE MOST SOPHISTICATED  GREEN POLICY OF ANY HOTEL IN THE MIDDLE EAST – FOLLOWING  AN 18-MONTH LONG PROJECT THAT WILL REVOLUTIONISE ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY IN THE INDUSTRY

Dubai based hotel, TRYP by Wyndham is successfully leading by example and positioning itself at the forefront, to reduce the impact hotels have on the environment, as well as giving back to the community. “We recently launched the most sophisticated green initiative of any hotel in the Middle East and now the hotel has fully operationalized the region’s first ever glass water bottle refiling system, completely eliminating the use of plastic bottles. We partnered with the locally based company No More Bottles to install filtered water dispensers using Waterlogic water dispensers, which work by connecting technologically advanced filtration units to the hotel’s mains water supply’ “says Jo-Ella Moore, General Manager, Tryp by Wyndham Dubai.

-The water filtration system also removes chlorine and contaminants from mains water, so by producing our own water on a daily basis we avoid guests consuming water that has been in a plastic bottle for a long period of time, which might not have been stored in the best conditions.  Once used, the glass bottles are cleaned, refilled and labelled in-house – often plastic bottle free initiatives still see much waste going into landfill. -A key CSR focused initiative that we have implemented is the ‘Soap for Hope’ project. All used soap bars are collected and then sent to developing countries where they are reprocessed and compressed into new 500g bricks. This not only reduces unnecessary waste and prevents useable soap bars from being sent to landfill, but it also creates jobs in developing countries and contributes to improving the standard of living in communities! -Our commitment to sustainability also extends to the use of recycled materials, which includes using paper toweling and tissue manufactured from 100% locally recycled cardboard – an initiative that was set up exclusively for the hotel by a local supplier.  – Our guest rooms ‘Do Not Disturb’ signs are made entirely from recycled plastic and other sustainability goals have also been achieved through installing water-saving shower heads and taps in all of our bathrooms. From doing this the hotel has successfully reduced the amount of water consumed while not impacting the quality of our guests’ experience. As a result, our water consumption in our showers alone has been cut from an average of 17 litres per minute to just 6.43 litres per minute.  -We have a responsibility to the nation and the globe in reducing our impact on the environment which is something the whole team at TRYP is committed to, so we decided to launch our various eco-friendly initiatives which are part of our Luve (love your vibrant earth) by Tryp project.
