The brainchild of Arctic wellness outfit Active North, based up in Swedish Lapland, Ice Yoga is inspired by Virya Yoga Level 1, says their website. Yoga on Ice, is a five-hour experience and the session lasts for 30- 45 min, depending on the weather conditions. It’s all about breathing fresh air and enjoying the nature around you, for your own well-being and is followed by a wood fire! Ice yoga is performed on reindeer fur ‘mats’ to protect from the cold.
There is a choice of four-day Arctic Winter Yoga retreats run by Active North across three locations: Munkviken, Aurora Safari Camp, and Byske.
